Jim Laurino

Jim studied painting, design, and color theory at the University of Connecticut. Through additional workshops and self-study, Jim has cultivated a bold representational painting style that balances the impressionists influence with contemporary subject matter. His expressive application of paint, married with a keen eye for classic New England scenes, charms the viewer and truly makes his work unique.
Jim began painting as a teenager and was fortunate to receive basic instruction from noted marine painters Carl G. Evers, and Christopher Blossom. He went on to study painting, design, and color theory at the University of Connecticut. Through additional workshops and self-study, Jim cultivated a unique and recognizable painting style, well suited to portraying the classic landscapes he is noted for.
Outdoor painting is a passion for Jim, and his best work is done leaning into the shade of an old barn, or working the trailside top of an ocean overlook. He enjoys participating in competitive plein air painting events whenever possible. His impressionist style paintings are in numerous private collections, and he exhibits in galleries throughout the Northeast.
